The books about the government and local government officials are the first collections of knowledge about these people and their family ties. The book about the clergy is the first collection for this part of the country in appr. 150 years. As important for the reader, these books have not been written by a traditional genealogist. Svein Tore Dahl was a graduate historian from the Technical University of Trondheim. As such, he focused on primary sources of information which unvealed much information previously unknown. In doing this, he was able to confirm a number of previously undocumented hypotheses. Based on solid documentation, he also dismissed a number of well-known, yet undocumented hypotheses which had almost turned into 'facts' by being repeated and copied from one genealogist to the other.
