The name Gica Marcussen - probably the portrayed woman - is inscribed on the reverse together with this peculiar text (in translation): "This painting is to be destroyed after my death and my uncle's". Fortunately, no one obeyed the order. This is a fine painting which deserves to be preserved. Both the owner and I would appreciate any information about Gica Marcussen.
